Here is “Squishy the Cute Owl” just hanging out in our sewing room. After we finished making “Squishy” we decided he looked great with our freshly cut bouquet from the yard and our Easter decorations! Squishy made his debut on March 27th 2014, the same day we launched our newsletter. This owl is a free gift pattern to all of our customers when they subscribe to our newsletter.
Here is a pulled back view of April the Spring Doll during her photo shoot for the cover of her pattern. This is what our photo shoots look like for our completed plushies. We often use a light box as shown here, and hang various fabric around it until we get just the right look. We also arrange a variety of really bright lights around until the lighting looks perfect. Haha, it’s not a very picturesque scene, but we make the most of the equipment we have, in order to get the best photo possible!
This is a practice version of our very first doll, which will be the “spring” doll in a seasons series. We’ve made her with random scraps of felt, which is why she is multicolored. But the final doll will have an all yellow rain-outfit.
For whatever reason, I often like to spread out my felt, patterns, and thread, and work on the floor. So in the photo above, I was kneeling over and trying to trace something and our cat Pixie really wanted on my lap. Well, since there was no lap to be had, she picked the next best thing!! This was the only time she’d ever done this, and I thought it was too funny to not take a picture!
This is our sweet little kitty, Pixie. She’s about 13 years old, so she likes to spend most of her time resting (on my lap if she can!). Here she is “posing” with Shamrock, our St. Patrick’s Day Cat plushie.
